Your Favorite Podcast on All Things Texas

Patrick invites famous Texas guests from the worlds of music, film, TV, arts, sports, entertainment, and business for engaging conversations about their careers, food, culture and everything Texas.

When people said that everything is bigger and better in Texas, they weren’t kidding.

It’s the second-largest state in the United States after Alaska, and it’s considered to be home to a huge variety of culinary delights. Of course, staples like BBQ and chili (the official state dish) will always be constant, but aside from these and other Tex-Mex favorites, there are a lot more local and international dishes that might surprise you.

Texas in our opinion has the most diverse culinary experience anywhere in the United states. With cities like Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and a hub like Dallas/Ft. Worth, there is no shortage of the kind of food you can find. One of the many reasons that makes Texas so great.

Texas is also home to some of the greatest singers, musicians, actors, directors, sports figures, celebrities and more artists who helped define this state and we intend to feature as many of them as we can.

Our goal with the podcast is to explore the great people of Texas and talk a little food along the way. But The Lone Star Plate is not just about food, it’s about covering all this great state of Texas has to offer. Food just happens to be a great road in.

Lone Star Plate Guests

Anyone can go on the Lone Star Plate Podcast as a guest – actors, directors, singers, restaurateurs, journalists, chefs, musicians, entrepreneurs, influencers, or even a guy selling the best tasting tacos on the street corner. Everybody eats, no exceptions, so everyone is qualified to talk about food – how it tastes, is prepared, and is served. Or, how it helps shape our culture and society. In between, the conversation can go anywhere from music, traveling, business, food trends, and basically anything under the sun.

We usually focus on whatever project the guest is their to promote. A new album, a new film, a new restaurant, a new book, you name it; we’ve discussed it. So there is real purpose to every show.

Sit, Chat, Repeat

Hosted by Patrick Scott Armstrong, a food veteran with over 15 years of experience, each episode will feature a guest and purpose for coming on the show. There’s no telling what the conversation might be like, but one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be fun, interesting, and informative. Please check out our YouTube channel as our podcasts are filmed as well. We also break down the episodes in clips on the channel.
